Cannes 2017: BPM (beats per minute/120 beats par minute)

Directed by Robin Campillo, BPM, a favourite amongst Cannes viewers is set in the early 1990s. With AIDS having already claimed countless lives for nearly ten years, it describes Act Up-Paris activists multiply actions to fight general indifference. Nathan, a newcomer to the group, sees his world shaken up by Sean, a radical militant. Critics have called it “heart-bursting and it has left many in tears after the press screening.
